Gemewizard unveils GemePro color communication package

Ramat Gan, Israel: September 23, 2008 - Gemewizard, the world leader in the development of color communication software and hardware for the gemstone and diamond industries, has announced the release of its latest product. Called GemePro, it is a program tailored specifically for professional traders and manufacturers of colored gemstones and fancy color diamonds, and jewelry appraisers. The new program comes with an enhanced color detection system that provides a degree of precision that is five times more detailed than Gemewizard's popular standard color communications system, which is used mainly for educational purposes and for providing general color guidelines for gemstones and diamonds. "The GemePro is geared specifically for industry professionals," said Menahem Sevdermish, chairman of Gemewizard. "Having three years of experience under our belt with the GemeSquare, our standard color communication software, we have learned that many members of the trade desire a more detailed system to describe the colors of their gems. " "What we did is build upon the basic GemeSquare, which includes 31 master color hues for gemstones and the GemeFancy, which includes the 27 main hues for fancy colored diamonds. But in the GemePro, each hue is sub-divided to five sub-hues each of which is again displayed in 36-42 tone saturation combinations. This means that we have about 200 unique coded colors for each hue and a total of more than 7,000 colors, compared to somewhat more than 1,000 in the basic programs," Sevdermish explained. GemePro is the first professional product supporting traders and appraisers of fancy colored diamond. The system defines the exact borders of the fancy diamonds grades (yellow, green, pink, etc.), enabling a quick and precise definition of the fancy color grade. Once a color has been selected, the user may record his findings on a Colored Gemstone or Fancy Color Diamond report. These are saved in a database, and provide a detailed color grading history of each and every gemstone handled by the company. Bundled together with the GemePro is the Sampler, which is a module that analyzes a digital image of a colored gemstone or fancy colored diamond, automatically defining its color makeup. GemePro is already being used by leading jewelers and appraisers. The GemePro software is scheduled for general release today, September 23, with a license price of $2,000.
